I am looking for a web hosting service that can give me reliable service. The one I am currently with has let me down time and time again and I’m losing a lot of potential customers due to it. Can anyone tell me about THEIR experiences with their host, I dont want any links to review sites etc as these are often paid by the hosting companies to write nice things.
Ideally I need a service that provides;
Transfer my existing domain/website for free or minimal cost and with limited downtime
Decent bandwidth and storage limits
Good support staff who know what they’re talking about
Minimal downtime
E-mail hosting included
Good value for money
It must have a website builder program as I wish to completely rebuild my site. It needs to include;
Easy use, help guides, walkthroughs etc
A lot of flexibility as to where I can put pictures and text, different text fonts, sizes etc
Large range of decent templates or ability to modify templates
Ability to build forms on the site
Ability to load pdfs that clients can download
Thanks

An enterprise has a bank account with no credit card and wants to set-up its own homepage. When it uses certain hosting companies’ services it wants to reveice a bill in their e-mail box. After that they go to their internet banking system and manually do a transaction to that account which the hosting company has provided to them. And that’s it. Note that the bank account and the domain is registered by a company/enterprise/organization not a person.
So, how do I manage that without Paypal or 2Checkout or other 3rd parties involved? I just need a clean bill and a clean transaction. I am not planning to set up a credit card tied bank account for my enterprise.
Deal can go sour even if my credit card on my Paypal has zero funds and I am billed only once year. It means I get a service and also get "get out of a jail free" card. In Europe it is normal to make such deals based on trust where a buyer agrees to pay after a certain amount of time the seller for the goods and services he had received.

most web hosts that i have seen use php4. php5 is very stable and has much more versatility in its use of objects. php5 can even co-exist along side of php4 yet hosting companies dont, on average, even plan on the upgrade to php5

I want to start and internet radio station and a lot of hosting companies do not host streaming audio. I went to one that did and found that their customer service lacks tact and patience. I have never tried anything like this before and the program I want to use for the streaming audio needs 50 GB bandwidth. I found with my old hosting company has more than enough bandwidth but does not host streaming audio or video. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I am looking to switch hosting companies from Homestead to either HostNed or HostMonster but having a hard time deciding which one is better. Of cource Host Monster is cheaper but I need to ask anyone who has knowledge of these Hosting Services to list your choice and why.
I am aware of the difference servers Linux or Windows but I have never used Linux before. What is better Linux or Windows and is Linux easy to use?
Thanks for all your input. And Please be honest!

Recently, I have been using Godaddy. I mainly like them, except for their one undocumented limitation on CPU usage which interferes with a script that I have recently created, so I’m looking for a new host.
Here are my requirements:
1. I must be able to modify PHP settings, in specific, max_execution_time
2. It must be SHARED hosting, not VPS, which will be my last resort
3. It must not have a CPU limitation, or at least be more reasonable than Godaddy’s (max CPU allotted for 20s before the script is cut off)
So, are there any hosting companies out there that have these characteristics? I really don’t want to have to pay for a VPS =/
Thanks!

I am creating a program like skype. I want to know if i can get away with those cheap 4 dollar a month unlimited hosting companies if the program was popular. Any thoughts? thanks
Also, If i made a desktop client that the user downloads to their pc, does that mean only they are using their own bandwith?

How do I setup a secure VPN for a small virtual business? What is needed on the client side? What is needed on the server side? Are there hosting companies that host VPN’s for small businesses? What will this cost me?
