I am a website developer/programmer that is looking to start my own website design business. However, I am not looking to host websites, just design, implement, and maintain the websites. I currently have a website live on godaddy, but even though I haven’t had any issues, I have heard some horror stories about godaddy. So, any other web developers out there that don’t host the websites they design that can offer me advice on which web hosting service(s) to use? Thanks

I am also open to any other genuine advice from other web developers out there on starting my business.

Hi, I have a domain name I got through Go Daddy. It is currently being hosted for free by Go Daddy, and as a result they have ads at the top of the page.
I talked to my boss and he said i could host it on his server for free, I have the ftp login and password, and i know how to use the "manage sites" on dreamweaver to create a new site, but after that I am lost, I don’t know how I would transfer the "control" of the domain from godaddy to my boss’s hosting.
I found on Go Daddy that it looks like it has something to do with nameservers (i don’t really understand what those are).

Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

I was thinking of using GoDaddy because it was cheap, but i’m not sure. I’m not planning on putting any "complicated" stuff on my website. Just my resume, pictures, and videos. Hi, I’m planning to install a Godaddy SSL cert on a single sales page.

I have shared hosting with Godaddy and want to add an ssl cert to a single domain I have.

Godaddy’s instructions are lame and I’m not very good at database stuff.

Anyone know how to do this? I’m afraid to mess things up. I was going to hire someone on elance but they want to charge me 0 to do this, but it can’t be that hard, right?

We want for about 300-700gb hosting space,in unix os including control panel and database abilities. We saw godaddy’s plans but i dont think that they have a plan in which you take space and you cut it and sell it into pieces.

I use officelive.com but in my domain it puts .officelive.com when i bought a domain from godaddy…. but it is an ad free hosting, i am looking for one just like it but just doesnt have .anything to mess with the domain. Freewebs.com has ads.

I would like to use a file based database for a small website on a shared linux hosting account on godaddy.

I do not want to use Mysql.

I would like to be able to install the database myself, on a shared hosting account.

i need real reviews on website hosting ocmpanies its gonna be a website something like a blog nothing fancy but something that is nice. i like yahoo, but people are saying bluehost and godaddy are better which one is best i am confused.

What is a good domain registrar and hosting service?
Looks like Bluehost is a good deal but I read around that the service is pore.
GoDaddy is also one of the top services but not sure if they are any good.
Any suggestions? I’m looking for something with good service and a fair price.

I’ve been having some issues with Godaddy hosting, namely their virtual dedicated server hosting. I’m thinking of moving my website to another hosting provider, but maybe this time to full Dedicated Server. Any recommendations?
