I already have a domain name and a host, where do I go from here? Obviously, I am a complete novice in this area so any help or advice would be appreciated. I understand I need software to manage the site but which one, preferably free, is the best?

Right : so I have a Primary Domain controller based on Windows 2003 Server, which also acts as File&Print Server and DNS server. The domain name is (i won’t give the real name, just example) VOO , all users log on to VOO.
The company has a website VOO.RO and email on the VOO.RO domain.
Any computer OUTSIDE the LOCAL/INTERNAL network can access VOO.RO website and email, but when a computer INSIDE the LOCAL network (pc’s logging to VOO domain controller) tries to access the VOO.RO email or website, there is an error "page not found". Any other domain is accesible, any email account EXCEPT for VOO.RO (so there is nothing wrong with the ISP,etc) . I cannot use the public IP address of the VOO.RO instead of the DNS,as I have multiple domains hosted on one external physical server…
What is wrong? How can i fix the local pc’s to be able to access website and email of VOO? There is something related to the DNS,but what?

I’ve been looking for a web host for the first time and I’ve spent weeks sorting through the staggering amount of information from dozens of different web host ranking websites, etc. I’d love feedback from the unbiased users on Y! answers
-need a good basic web host
-would like to ultimately host 3 websites on one account
-expect the websites to be small, simple (2 are for a small start up biz and one personal)
-primarily use a Mac, although I have access to PC
-like the shared hosting plan prices but don’t know who to choose
-need the domain name(s) too
I’m finding that the user reviews are all over the place – like one website will have 100% glowing positive reviews of Lunarpages and then the next one will tell you it’s a nightmare; then you get the same thing for Hostgator, and now I don’t know who to believe about any of the dozens of choices I’ve looked at.

I already have the domain name and hosting,
I just need a user friendly program that will allow me to design and put up a site online,
Using my own images and layout designs.
I do not know HTML.
It is a music website, if that matters.

Hello, I’m fairly new to DNS server software. Currently I’m not using virtual hosts, but I am using dynamic sub-directories for my Users. Sometime in the future I would like my Users to be able to use their own domain name.
Is it possible to configure a DNS server to direct a domain name to a specific folder in a server directory?
If so, how?

1.)Static or dynamic on a windows/apach server hosting my clients sites?
2.)How to start using my ALREADY hosted and paid domain on my Apache server?
3.)How to make it so my domain name come’s up and not my IP to the rest of the world?
4.) Thank you!
@Steven I already have paid for a domain so i need to "wrestle" it away from them (my hosting company/domain place of purchase) and have my ip changed on that dns?

Hi,
I use bluehost as my web hosting service which supports multiple dimains. I’v started my first website with my primary domain name domain1.com over 3 months. Lately I purchased another domain name in the name of domain2.com via bluehost.
How can I create a new folder on my file manager section to upload my new web pages on my domain2.com?
BlueHost support team told me refer to addon section to do that. But when doing their instructions a subdomain in the same name of domain2 is created as a subdomain of domain1! When I remove this sub-domain, the contents of my domain2.com is also deleted.
How can I create a folder to upload my web pages at my second domain, without creating a sub-domain with same name on my primary domain name?
Since the contents of my second website is different from my first website, I don’t want to have its contents on my first site, specially its managing will be confusing!
Thanks

Hi, i have mac os x server and have just done a fresh install. I am moving from windows server so am not familiar with the way mac works.
Would somebody be kind enough to give me a detailed explanation of how i can set up web hosting on here.
I have a domain name and have a custom DNS service with DynDns.com
If i could have a step by step from setting up the DNS server on the mac and the web server it would be great. Thank you
