I wouldn’t go over the bandwidth cap, or use it for business/profit, so would they have any other problems with it? I’ve heard that some ISPs don’t approve of customers doing so… not sure why though.

I have this custom build of Linux that I have built one SUSE Studio and would like to strafer it directly as I do not have the time nor the bandwidth to download it and upload it on my FTP server that is run by my web host. Please can you tell me how I can transfer it directly from the SUSE Studio to my Web Host?

I have Dreamhost now. They are pretty good, but I was wondering if there was anything better. Feel free to link to sites that review web hosters also.

*It needs to be around 20 dollars a month (I pay 7 bucks a month for Dreamhost).

*PHP, MySQL, etc the whole gamut I need.

*It need to have a good way to upgrade. Meaning it can start off slow, but if I pick up more traffic, I can pay more to easily upgrade my bandwidth, etc.

So yeah give your thoughts, please no spammers with referral links. Also if you could find an article about this on digg (I couldn’t find one) that would also be great. Thanks in advance.

web hosting?

Does anybody can offer a best web hosting information site that contain detailed web hosting plans feature? I had found some, but all those web hosting sites only list a little general feature, space, bandwidth, price… It’s hard to compare those web hosting plans or review all those web hosting companies one by one. so more detailed web hosting plans information is appreciate.

You advise me a good free web hosting?

You advise me a good free web hosting with (minimum) these characteristics:
- 200MB space
- MySQL database, 150MB
- infinite queries
- PHP5
- 500 GB of monthly bandwidth
- no file size limit
- phpMyAdmin
- custom .htaccess
- linux server

Thanks

Can u suggest a good web hosting site?

I wanna know a good shared web hosting company where it should have the option of hosting multiple domains from a single account.
i request you to please do not answer this by looking at a couple of sites reviewing web hosting. as far as i know they are not true. so it would be better if u have personal experience or just let me know ur suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

IT SHOUL HAVE THIS FEATURES
1.good web space
2.good bandwidth
3.able to host multiple domains per single account
4.servers should be fast reliable

I’m not too good with computer hardware so I would appreciate if you guys can tell me if the following server specs are good enough to host a very popular site (with hundreds of thousands of visits a month).

Dedicated Server Specs:

Processor – Single Processor Dual Core Opteron 1212 – 2.00GHz – 2 x 1MB cache

RAM – 2 GB DDR2 667

Uplink Port Speed – 100 Mbps Public & Private Networks

Bandwidth – 2000 GB Bandwidth

IPV4 Adresses – 4

Hard Drive- 250GB SATA II

Operating System – CentOS 5 (64 bit)

Also should I get the 64 bit CentOS or the 32 bit? I’m looking for speed and security.

Thanks

Hi, I am trying to launch several websites and expecting total few hundreds thousand people visit the webs at the same time.

I found out that a good dedicated hosting quite expensive. (I am student).

So I am wonder if would it be cheaper in long run if I build one myself? How do I know how much bandwidth is available and need? Also is there any specific tutorial on self build server.

Thanks in advance!

Web application server question?

Ok im making a web app for my church ( its a very big church )
and i want to know if i need a specific server to host on. i own 5 domain names and use linux hosting for all but
do i need to upgrade my specs for the server such as bandwidth ? because during the service people will be using the application (700 or more people during the service)

I want to buy a web hosting business that already has customers , but I’m not sure what skills and knowledge are needed .
I own several websites and know basic knowledge about uploading a website , URL’s , and know that the server space has to be leased and resold to customers according to their bandwidth and size of site .

However, Do I need to know Unix , Linux , or Perl or other programming languages ? If so , can this be out sourced reasonably ?
