I’m trying to set up my google adsense account so I can display ads on my new site. This is what the Google Domain set up says to do:

1. Log in to your account at smallbusiness.yahoo.com

2. Click Domain Control Panel below the domain you’d like to use with AdSense for domains

3. Click Manage Advanced DNS Settings.

4. By default, there are 2 A Records & 2 CNAME Records created for your domains, some of these will be replaced automatically

1. Click Add Record. Enter www for the source, and pub-xxxxxxxxx.afd.ghs.google.com. for the Destination (where pub-xxxxxxxxx is your unique string found on the AdSense for domains setup page). Click Submit, and click Submit on the following screen.

2. Click Add Record. Leave the Source field blank and enter XXX.XXX.XX.XX for Destination. Click Submit, and click Submit on the following screen.

3. Click Add Record. Leave the Source field blank and enter XXX.XXX.XX.XX for Destination. Click Submit, and click Submit on the following screen.

4. Click Add Record. Leave the Source field blank and enter XXX.XXX.XX.XX for Destination. Click Submit, and click Submit on the following screen.

By the time I get to step 2 of the second set of instructions, where it says to leave the source field blank, and I hit submit, I get a message that pops up and says, "The record that you requested cannot be set up because it would otherwise interfere with DNS records Yahoo! has created to support your service. Please choose a different source hostname."

I am at a loss here. I contacted Yahoo! directly but the guy said he couldn’t help me because you cannot leave the source field blank and he had no other suggestions for me. I cannot find a way to contact Google directly and I found this question posed in the adsense forums but no one apparently knew the answer. I would appreciate some help. I’m sure some people who have Yahoo! Web Hosting services have Google Adsense on their site. I have limited experience in these matters. Thank you,

I have a beginner hosting plan at 1&1, and would like to create a MySQL database that I can use to manage contact lists. I would like to create a desktop program to do this, but as I cannot connect to this database directly via ODBC, I was wondering if there is any PHP software I can install on my server space that will allow me to connect to this MySQL database directly from a desktop (probably VB.NET 2008 Win Forms) application.

On every single game (which would be Hidden & Dangerous 2, and Black Hawk Down) I Host a dedicated server to start a clan or a "have fun" server and people join but then it says they disconnected in the dedicated server window. Any idea how to let people join on any server you make on any game?

Aondrea, the link isn’t working? Also why do they give u 5 domains? Does this mean 5 seperate websites? Or one website that redirects you to the same place when any of the 5 names are used? Thanks

I made a big website using that program and want to use other hosting services. No I am concerned that it might have a certain feature that only allows you to use their hosting serivice. I hope not, I like 1&1 Internet much better.

I’m not too good with computer hardware so I would appreciate if you guys can tell me if the following server specs are good enough to host a very popular site (with hundreds of thousands of visits a month).

I want to experiment with servers a little and I ran into a problem. The host is Windows XP and the guest is Ubuntu server. I managed to set up openSSH and apache and the site is visible from the host but I cant access it from outside my LAN (I have a router) or inside my LAN (from a different computer of course). How to configure Vmware & XP so I can access my virtual server from the internet?
If I choose bridged connection XP complains something like "there is another IP conflicting with this one"

I want a Free PHP-MySql Web Hosting Server. Please suggest the best one. The server must support the latest PHP & My-Sql versions as well as "mail()" i.e. Mail Function of PHP. I must be able to send mails from that server using PHP.
