What are the worst shared hosting providers? Many advertise that they are small business friendly but at the end they are cheating you till the sign up does. Hostgator keeps "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions of use." checked during the signup process to keep you away from the "Terms & Conditions" and Netfirms keep everything restricted (it seems they are hosting for them selves but not for us). These fellows not allowing to maintain a large contact list and maximum would be 500 a hour. Netfirms cheats you on referrals and do not keep their history details against the referrals say no to payments related queries. What other hosting providers practice in the same way? Share your experience here so that we can get rid from those cheaters. Thanks!

Details of Violation: If you are using Apache to host your site just go to the logs section. If it’s shared hosting log into your site with ftp then cd ../logs and download the files there. If you are on a dedicated host it depends on where your apache conf file tells apache to put the logs. This is different on Linux, windoze, BSD, etc. Even under Linux it’s different depending on what distro. If you have control panel or plesk you can just log in and view your logs. I have a shell script I used to use that downloaded my logs dailly and put them into a DB sorted by which server and what kidn of page hit it was. There are also free log analyzers if you are using Apache as your web server and Linux as your home OS. If you are running a dedicated Linux host you can install these and view the results from windoze machines as web pages. Reading others post. Alexa is not going to be remotely accura

Right : so I have a Primary Domain controller based on Windows 2003 Server,which also acts as File&Print Server and DNS server. The domain name is (i won’t give the real name,just example) VOO , all users log on to VOO.
The company has a website VOO.RO and email on the VOO.RO domain.
Any computer OUTSIDE the LOCAL/INTERNAL network can access VOO.RO website and email,but when a computer INSIDE the LOCAL network (pc’s logging to VOO domain controller) tries to access the VOO.RO email or website,there is an error "page not found". Any other domain is accesible,any email account EXCEPT for VOO.RO (so there is nothing wrong with the ISP,etc) . I cannot use the public IP address of the VOO.RO instead of the DNS,as I have multiple domains hosted on one external physical server…
What is wrong? How can i fix the local pc’s to be able to access website and email of VOO? There is something related to the DNS,but what?

My company (35 employees in home office, with 10 employees scattered in 5 remote locations) is looking for a product/service that we can used in a web based environment to track important projects and collaborate on those projects. We could host the product on our own system or use a hosted package, either option is fine.

We do NOT want something over complicated, but we do want to be able to do file sharing, have threaded conversations, track to-dos & responsibilities, set & report on milestones, track whether or not key due dates are being met.

Managing the system should be relatively easy. I am the only IT person on staff and already have a full plate.
