I knew it as freewebs before, now it’s called webs.
Anyways, is there any free hosting site like this? I’m trying to manage a bunch of pages on one of my sites, but right now, it’s really messy and confusing. I don’t think I have the time to clean it up or anything.
So, is there any site relatively similar to webs? The only thing I’m looking for is a site where I don’t have to use one of their template and you can upload images (or just files in general, because I need to upload my layouts). If possible, ad-free.
Then again, I think webs is the best free hosting site there is. . . Or out of what I’ve seen.
So, y!A, do you know any sites like webs?

Wow, how confusing. I am new at all this. I want to have a website that is up all the time and I can take donations on it. That’s it. There are so many options, and so many negative reviews of every company. Which one should I use?

I have datacenter assigned /28 bock of IP addresses for my network. I am adding new virtual machines on my host server, and they assigned me a new /29 block of IP’s statically routed to my host server IP (.66).
Here is my first /28 (the "x" replaces number that are the same in each line, ie., they all match.
Range: xx.xxx.xxx.64/29
Netmask: 255.255.255.248
Network: xx.xxx.xxx.64
Gateway: xx.xxx.xxx.65
First Usable: xx.xxx.xxx.66
Last Usable: xx.xxx.xxx.70
Broadcast: xx.xxx.xxx.71
And my new set of IP’s is
Range: xx.xxx.xxx.104/29 is now statically routed to xx.xxx.xxx.66 (host server)
They said that "To use the ips you would just need to bind them on the server. If you bind them as 255.255.255.255 for each then you would be able to use all the ips on that server."
As I have spent most of my time in programming, I was hoping a network guy could help me out. I have Windows Server 2008 R2. What do they mean exactly, and what do I have to do specifically.
So how specifically in windows would I do this?

It currently has Windows XP, and I’m looking to host my own website on my own server. Is Linux good for this? Which distro?

first off, it can’t connect to the internet while the rest of the computers on my network can. but further than that, I paid for a domain name through yahoo so i have my own website.com. but i ran out of money and i couldn’t pay yahoo to host for me anymore. but the website.com is still mine right? I want my new 03 server to host this. I’ve tried to set up a domain on my server by using the domain wizard. now when my server boots up, i log in to that said domain. but i’m still confused. i made the domain of my server the same name as the domain I paid for, but nothing is happening. I know my biggest problem is to get internet access to my server, but i’m afraid that even if i do, it won’t work the way i want it to. I’m currently downloading a few ebooks on 03 server. I don’t know how much help they will be because they might be too complicated for me to understand. I’m no dummy, you can be technical in your answers. I just don’t have much experience with servers.
