I want to set up my own simple website. My computer operating system is Windows XP and my webpage is in HTML and ready to upload. I will use go daddy as host and they are giving me so many options to upload!!
Which would be the best for a beginner? FileZilla, or creating a network connection with XP, or using Microsoft front page, or should I use go daddy’s "hosting control center" web based FTP client.
This question is important to me because I figure I might have to use this "FTP client" to manage my webpage?? So it might be an important decision. I want to be certain that I make the right choice.

When the webmaster doesn’t have an "index" file in a folder, you are able to look at the contents of that folder on the server. But when there is an index file in every folder on the server, is there still a way to see all the contents in the folder?

I would like to know how this system works, i know that everything runs through your connection when you are the host, but when you are hosting would that cause you to lag more, when everyone is running through you? or what? basically im looking for some clarifications on what could cause lag in the game.

Ok, I want to make a website, but without paying the monthly fee of a web host.
After registering my domain, building my website, and preparing my linux server…what do i do?
How do i put all of this stuff together (domain+website+server) to make an accessible website.
I know webhosts are cheap (and some are free) But i wanna do this for my own knowledge, since i am a computer enthusiast.
Also…when it comes to the server…does processor speed and ram really matter?
AND…how do i determine the "bandwidth" after everything is set up. ( like when webhosts tell you that you have a certain "limit" of bandwidth, or however many visitors can visit your site.)
Ty in advance…

Would it be possible to have 3 seperate hard drives, not just partions, in a computer, one with vista, one with osx and one with ubuntu and have it so when I start up my computer I choose which os I want to run. This is assuming i have a version of osx that can run on pc parts.
Secondly, could I have a fourth hard drive with music, pictures and videos on it that I could access from each os?
OR could I run any host os with any other os on a virtual machine? For example, could osx work in a virtual machine if I had vista running as a host?
I’m not actually trying to do this now, i’m just curious. And maybe I don’t want to chose which os is my favorite.

I have recorded some covers (karaoke style) that I would like to be hosted so that they can be shared online without having to be downloaded by the listener. The material (i.e. music and words) are copyrighted by other parties, but it is my voice. But, this prevents sites like supload from hosting them. Is there a site that will host my karaoke recordings free of charge?

I, along with one other, am hosting a book review website called The Book Junkie. We are currently using freewebs.com, but the HTML filter isn’t very good. It only gets us 20 free pages, also. Using templates is not an option. Our site is www.thebookjunkie.webs.com . As you can see, it is very untidy. If you have any suggestions for host sites, please let me know! Also, if you would like to become part of our staff, or just write a book review or two, please feel free to email me at xxlilsh0rttiixx@yahoo.com Don’t worry. We have about 20 or 30 more reviews that aren’t put on that site. They were put on a petpage from neopets.com Thanks a bunch! **It must have an HTML filter!!

Is there a class system in Heaven, with angels and archangels, and a host of other spirits at one level, then God, the Holy Spirit and Jesus at another level? Where do human souls fit into this hierarchy?
